When choosing an Australian pharmacy school you have many choices. Charles Stuart University, the University of Sydney, the University of Queensland, and the University of Tasmania are some of the most popular choices when it comes to pharmacy programs. One thing that you will want to look at is the size of the program and the university itself. Be sure that you are going to be able to get the one on one attention that you are looking for.

Currently the job market for pharmacists is strong. In fact, in Australia there are a great deal of pharmacist positions available, but before you can get one of those positions you are going to need to pass the APEC exam.

The APEC exam is the professional designation given by the Australian Pharmacy Evaluation Committee. The APEC exam is designed to test your knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as the science behind the pharmacy. The APEC exam is definitely tough, and generally requires students to be very dedicated in their exam preparation. Be aware that simply getting your degree is not always enough to pass the APEC exam.

There are several ways to prepare for the APEC exam. Your university education is the foundation, but many people find that additional preparation is necessary. There are APEC preparation courses and study aids on the market that will help you to prepare. These courses are designed to specifically train you in how the test is formatted, and what you need to do to properly answer each question. One of the best places to look for help is the site ApecExam.com. This site is wonderful because it offers a variety of different test preparation options, including some free options.

You may also want to look into some of the online study forums. For example, on StudyConnect.com there is an active discussion forum specifically about Pharmacy Schools in Australia and the APEC exam. This site allows you to learn from other people’s experiences as well as post your own questions and concerns about how to study pharmacy in Australia and prepare for the APEC exam.

Thinking of studying to become a teacher? Always dreamed of studying overseas? If so, you are not alone. Studying in a new country is a great way to get your education while experiencing something new and exciting.

In Australia, you have two main choices when it comes to securing your teaching certification. Your first option is to get a four year undergraduate degree with a major in teaching. This is a common requirement in many countries for getting a teaching certification, so it probably doesn’t surprise you.

Your other option for getting a teaching certification in Australia is to pursue a general degree that only takes three years to achieve. However, that alone will not certify you to head into the classroom. Additionally, you are going to need to seek a postgraduate program that is geared towards teaching. Typically, this will take you an additional one to two years to achieve.

There are many different universities in Australia that offer teacher training education. When choosing a university, think about which school would be the best fit for you in terms of location as well as curriculum. After all, if you’re studying in Australia you may as well be in a beautiful beach location where you can surf in your time off!

Another thing to consider is the size of the university. Are you comfortable studying at a large institution that has lots of choice of programs, or would you prefer a smaller school where you might get more individual attention. And finally, you cannot forget about your budget. Tuition is only part of the cost – you also need to consider travel costs (will you be wanting to travel home at school breaks?) and the cost of food and accommodation in the various locations.

The most important consideration about studying in Australia to become a teacher is to find a school that offers a program that sets you on fire. Take a look at the classes offered. If you are excited about the program you’re more likely to throw yourself into it wholeheartedly, and that will set you up for educational success and a bright future in your chosen career.

Curtin University’s main campus is located in Perth, Western Australia and has smaller campuses across the State. Its 32,000 students include about 9,000 international students studying in country and about 7,000 other international students studying at various overseas Curtin campuses. That’s a real focus on international ties. For example, one of the newest ties is with Kenya where Curtin University has established a new international partnership to improve environmental health practice capacity in East Africa. This is a truly global university, offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Curtin offers undergraduate courses in Business, Health Services, Humanities and Science and Engineering. Here’s just a small sample of what’s offered. Within Humanities are such courses as Art, Architecture, Interior Design, Internet Studies and Journalism. Within Health Services are Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Bio Medical Science, just to name a few. At the Western School of Mines you can study Mining Engineering, Medical Imaging and Applied Physics, Petroleum Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. Check out Curtin University’s website to read about the whole list of courses.

Curtin values and nurtures its students’ wellbeing. Student Services staff assist with information on accommodation, gyms, security, transport, banking, scholarships and health to name but a few of the services. There is an English Language Centre and Bridging English and IELTS. There are multi faith services as well. Off campus you will explore the beauties of Perth such as its Swan River and Kings Park. There are exciting restaurants, lots of theatre and sports and of course, great shopping.

The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Business and Government, Information Science and Engineering, Law, Education and Community Studies, Professional Communications, Design and Architecture, Health Science and Resources, Environmental and Heritage Sciences among other offerings. Where better to study Government than in the heart of Australia’s Government.

Charles Darwin University (CDU) is located in the Northern Territory of Australia. The main campus is in Darwin but CDU has campuses throughout the Northern Territory. It has a VET sector as well as a Higher Education sector so you can begin your studies at the level best suited for you.

Darwin may seem isolated when you look at the map but it has treasures all around it. Built close to the Arafura Sea the University has close ties with its neighbours in Indonesia, East Timor and Malaysia among the many close Southeast Asian countries. CDU’s student body reflects the multicultural richness of Darwin. There are international students from 50 countries but they just blend in with the local population who pride themselves on our harmonious and safe environment.

CDU prides itself on its connections with the environment. Besides the standard undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business, Law, Education and the Humanities, CDU offers Environmental and Life Sciences and Health Sciences. University researchers carry out frontier breaking studies into fire management, savannah land protection and other studies into tropical flora and fauna in the tropical wetlands. The climate around Darwin is tropical but head toward the Alice Springs campus and you will be in the desert where there is another world to discover.

Indigenous culture is very alive in the Northern Territory and there are many opportunities to carry out research related to the anthropology and archeology of people who have been in the area for 50,000 years. The chance to participate in research into the development of remote communities is without measure. For those interested in aid work within Australia or overseas CDU offers a Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community Studies where you will learn about logistics, management of aid programs and even how to change a tyre on a 4X4 wheel vehicle– in case you get bogged in your field work.

CDU is a small institution that gives special care to its students from assisting them to find accommodation to banking to finding a job. If you are interested in migrating to Australia after your studies, you should know that you get 10 points because you have studied at an institution that has Northern Territory Government sponsorship for certain courses and another 5 points for studying at a regional university. Check out CDU for a great future.

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is unique in Australia. The fourth oldest university, established in 1890, offers study that reflects the Tasmania environment. A small island, a small university and totally breathtaking. There are around 24,000 students involved in courses that reflect the future such as Antarctic and Maritime Studies, Environment, Frontier Technologies and Sustainable Primary Production. Mathematics, Science, Law, Music, Nursing and Midwifery, Architecture and Design and Media Studies are among other programs. Creative ideas and creative research are encouraged everywhere.

The main campus is based in Hobart, a beautiful historic city where everything is within walking distance. No big crowds, no hustle and bustle. Just lots of warm and friendly people who have time for you. The University helps students find on or off campus accommodation and ensures that you become part of a relaxed social life. The famous Sydney to Hobart race captures everyone’s attention and it all happens down at the docks – just a short walk away. Then there are the markets and the marathons and great restaurants when you want to take a break from your studies.

Come study creatively for a sustainable future. Come study at the University of Tasmania.
