Description: The Box Hill Institute of TAFE English Language Centre was established in 1978 and offers a range of quality English Language courses for students from non-English speaking backgrounds. English classes range from Elementary to Advanced levels. Students can study General English or English for Academic Purposes. Study skills and IELTS preparation form part of all English for Academic Purposes classes. There is also a specialist English class - English for Computing and Business - which runs for 10 weeks from 26 April and 14 October. This course is designed for students wishing to enter mainstream IT or Business related courses.
As many students studying English plan to continue Diploma courses at Box Hill Institute there is a strong emphasis in our English classes on preparing students for further study.
Facilities: Large, modern classrooms, computer and language laboratories, access to all Institute facilities including the library and cafeteria. Free email and internet access. Situated next to Box Hill Gardens, close to all public transport (trains, buses and tram), shops and many Asian restaurants.''
