Description: Established in 1988, the Centre for English Language Teaching (CELT) reflects the tradition of the University, providing high quality English Language teaching in a friendly and attractive learning environment.
CELT is part of UWA's student Services. Our teachers have degrees and specialist qualifications in English language teaching. We take a communicative approach to teaching and we encourage students to learn strategies to become independent life-long learners of English.

CELT offers courses in General English, Academic English, Business English and Examination Preparation for IELTS, Cambridge PET, FCE and CAE, TOEFL and TOEIC.

Facilities: Facilities at the Centre include modern classrooms, audio-visual and print teaching resources as well as an Independent Learning Centre (ILC) with a staff who assist students to select learning materials that best suit their needs.
ILC resources include: books, tapes, videos, computer software and test preparation packages as well as magazines, newspapers and materials of general interest.

There is also a fully networked computer laboratory with Internet and email access, and a modern digital language laboratory for class or individual work.

Students at the Centre have access to University facilities at UWA student rates.

Sports facilities such as the gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis, basketball and squash courts.

Fees: 5 weeks: $1,450; 10 weeks: $2,900; 15 weeks $4,275; 20 weeks; $5,700; 25 weeks: $7,125; 30 weeks: $8,400; 35 weeks: $9,800; 40 weeks: $11,000; 45 weeks: $11,925
