Teaching rooms and lecture theatres are modern and well equipped.
Services: A wide range of facilities and support services cater for students' study, cultural, sporting
and social needs.
Adelaide is a cosmopolitan city, easy to get around and inexpensive. The cost of living in Adelaide, particularly the cost of accommodation, is significantly lower than in Melbourne or Sydney.
Services include a Bridging Program to help international students assimilate to their new environment, this Program focuses on academic writing, oral presentation and includes an introduction to the teaching and learning methods used in class. It will help you to progress from a high level of general English proficiency to specific competence for business study.
Student Learning Support
Beyond the Bridging Program, ongoing support is available from the School's Student Learning Support Co-ordinator. This takes many forms and includes links to relevant web resources, individual intense coaching in critical thinking and effective reading and advice on referencing, linguistic expression, grammar and report writing. You may submit assignments electronically to the Student Learning Support Co-ordinator for constructive advice and editing recommendations.
Support is also available from the University's Learning and Teaching Development Unit. They offer free academic skills workshops and conversation tutorials for students.
A conversation tutorial provides opportunities for speaking practice by discussing
issues in tertiary study. Other workshop topics include: writing essays; writing in
an academic style; planning and revising for exams; learning styles and strategies;
and meeting academic expectations.
Orientation
At the beginning of each trimester an Orientation session is led by the Dean of the
School. It includes a tour of the School and familiarisation with available resources
such as timetables, program handbooks, library and computing resources. It deals with
