Description: La Trobe University's Study Abroad program gives students the chance to spend one or two semesters studying and living in Australia. Students can choose from the enormous range of subjects on offer and gain credit towards their studies at home.
Study Abroad allows students to reinvigorate their study experience by taking unique subjects in a new academic environment at the same time as they are making friends, exploring Australia and gaining independence.

Highlights: La Trobe offers a number of Australian studies courses in disciplines such as Literature, Cultural Studies, Cinema, Media, History and Politics, as well as Aboriginal Studies in Anthropology, Archaeology, Linguistics, History and Culture. Study can even be combined with travel; some Zoology subjects include field trips to Kangaroo Island, Outback Victoria and Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef. Students can also take advantage of the many weekend and semester break trips offered through the University; learn to surf at Bells Beach, hike in the Grampians National Park, travel the Great Ocean Road, attend an Aussie Rules Football match or join one of our numerous clubs, and go snowboarding, mountaineering, scuba diving or water skiing.
Location Features: La Trobe offers a unique student lifestyle: located on 200 hectares (approx 500 acres) of beautiful native parkland, the main campus is a complete community with a huge range of facilities and retail outlets, including shops, hairdressers, banks, post office, a hospital, restaurants, cafes and a cinema, all this only half an hours drive from the centre of Melbourne! Lively, cosmopolitan Melbourne is Australia's cultural capital and was recently voted the most livable city in the world. There is also a campus in the beautiful heritage city of Bendigo, which offers a distinctive rural Australian experience.
