Both courses are four years in duration and both include one year Work Integrated Learning. Students study at William Angliss Institute for two years and for the third year of the course they undertake a year in industry. They return to the institute to complete the fourth year of the course.

Work Integrated Learning

Increasingly, employers are demanding graduates with degrees as well as experience and the capability to add value to their organisations. The Work Integrated Learning opportunities provided by the institute
during these courses equip graduates to meet this demand. The benefits of the Work Integrated Learning program include increased employability, better preparation for the complexities of the business world compared with other graduates, and a deeper understanding of real issues in a workplace environment.

The Work Integrated Learning subjects are assessable and require two semesters of work in the tourism, hospitality or culinary industries.

Institute approved placements can be undertaken in Australian or overseas establishments or organisations. The students may become employees of the organisations and receive an appropriate wage.

Students will be responsible for their own transportation, accommodation and other costs associated with the placement program. Students taking up approved international placements will need to ensure that they hold a valid passport, with unrestrictive access to other countries and at least 12 months validity.

Students are encouraged to find their own placement opportunities. Assistance will be available, if required, through Angliss Careers and Employment and the Work Integrated Learning Coordinator.

The Institute’s Work Integrated Learning Coordinator will maintain contact with the students during this year to assist with any issues that may arise.

I am a business owner and running a cafe which sells 50 koils coffee per week.
I never learn how to make coffee systematically. I want to update my coffee making skills. I am only available during weekends. Can you please suggest a short course for me?

Got something to say?
